The BeiDou-3 satellite Navigation System will be replenished with Three Reserve Spacecraft in 2023
The CASC report presents the country’s space science and technology development plans for 2023. It says the Tianzhou-6, Shenzhou-16 and Shenzhou-17 cargo spacecraft will be flown during the year for space exploration and use.
According to CASC, the BeiDou-3 navigation satellite system will be complemented by three backup spacecraft.
In 2023, the development of a next-generation commercial remote sensing satellite system will be accelerated.
CASC has also pledged to release information on excess rocket capacity and allow commercial users to launch satellites into space.
In 2023, CASC expects to fully execute the fourth phase of the lunar and planetary exploration project and complete the development of the Chang’e-7 lunar probe, the Tianwen-2 Martian probe, and the fixed orbiting UHF reconnaissance satellite.
In 2023, the Changcheng-6C rocket will make its first flight, and the total number of launches of the Changcheng-6C series rockets will exceed 500, according to the CASC report.
